The organisation

IMST GmbH was founded in autumn 1992 with financial support of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. Starting operations in 1993, IMST concentrates its business in the field of mobile and satellite communication systems, integrated circuit activities (MMIC & RFIC), antenna techniques, and electromagnetic compatibility including environmental effects. The company is headed by Prof. Dr. Ingo Wolff. IMST currently has a staff of around 160 employees, mostly scientists and engineers. It has available about 4,500 m2 of laboratories and offices. Since many years IMST acts as an independent service and consultant partner for the design of wireless applications, related components and terminals. During the last years many products, including mobile terminals, have been partly designed by IMST for well known companies, as e.g. Siemens or Bosch.





The experience

IMST GmbH has extensive experience in participating in public R&D programs and also in the project coordination and management of EU, Eureka/MEDEA+, BMBF, and ESA funded projects. IMST has successfully completed or is currently involved in several programmes in the FP6 and FP7. IMST leads or has been leaded EU projects: MUMOR, Whyless.com, MEDIAN, and SLATS. Overall IMST did contribute in more then 20 EU projects in the last five years.
Since IMST is in operation the company has build up his know how in designing integrated circuit, particularly in the analogue and mixed-signal domain. During the last years many IC designs have been successfully developed and brought to the market by well knows semiconductor companies. Application areas where IMST has been done IC designs, comprising IC for wireless, high precision industrial analogue, space and automotive.
